SUMMARY:Sullivan 5K Run/Walk
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1989 by Dr. Louis W. Sullivan\, former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services from 1989-1993\, the Sullivan Run/Walk for Health and Fitness is a great end-of-summer event for the whole family. \nRacers of all ages compete on the US Track and Field Association certified 5K course around East Chop Bluff with a spectacular view of Nantucket Sound. Based on feedback\, we moved up the start of the race to 9:30 am and had runners and walkers leave at the same time. Kids 10 and participate in the Kids Dash at 9 am. The race begins and ends at Washington Park at the intersection of New York Avenue and East Chop Drive\, in Oak Bluffs\, Massachusetts. \nCommemorative T-shirts are distributed to the first 300 registered race participants. Strollers and well-behaved leashed animals are permitted; however\, we ask that they remain at the “back of the pack” and practice extreme caution during the race. \n\nMVCS is a sponsor for this event and has a number of allotted spots available.
