MVCS has worked hard along with our insurance broker in negotiating with the insurance companies, so we can continue to offer our employees a comprehensive benefits package at the most affordable rates. This year we were able to negotiate with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (BCBSMA) to receive a 5% increase on medical and a 0% increase on dental. Employees who work a minimum of 30 hours a week are eligible to enroll in the benefits package offered at MVCS. (Please note that open enrollment has closed for Fiscal Year 2021).

Two plans are offered through Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Massachusetts: a traditional HMO plan or a high deductible PPO plan. With the PPO plan, employees have a Health Savings Account in which MVCS pays half of the deductible prorated by pay periods. With the HMO plan, we offer a flexible spending account in which employees may contribute pre-tax dollars to an account to pay for qualified medical expenses and daycare expenses. For detailed information on both the HMO plan and PPO plan, please review the Open Enrollment Memo.

Medical Premium Contributions

MVCS provides a medical contribution of 67% for single and family premium for employees working 30 or more hours a week.
