Health Insurance
MVCS has worked hard along with our insurance broker in negotiating with the insurance companies, so we can continue to offer our employees a comprehensive benefits package at the most affordable rates. Employees who work a minimum of 30 hours a week are eligible to enroll in the benefits package offered at MVCS. (Please note that open enrollment is held from June 1st – June 24th).
Two plans are offered through Blue Cross Blue Shield: a traditional HMO plan or a high deductible PPO plan.

With our PPO plan, employees have a Health Savings Account in which MVCS pays half of the deductible prorated by pay periods.

Life Insurance
MVCS recognizes the importance of protecting employees’ families against financial hardship that can result due to an employee’s death. We will continue to provide our valued employees Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance protection through Transamerica. Each benefit eligible employee is covered for 1.5 x annual salary not to exceed $175,000 for Life and AD&D.

Vacation Package
Vacation is paid to regular full-time and regular part-time employees as follows:
- First year of employment through fifth year of employment: three work weeks (15 days)
- Sixth through tenth year of employment: four work weeks (20 days)
- Eleventh, plus: five work weeks (25 days)
All full-time regularly scheduled employees and part-time employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for paid vacation. The vacation benefit year runs from July 1st through June 30th (Fiscal year).
Eligible employees will accrue vacation benefits on a per pay period basis following successful completion of the introductory period. Eligible part-time employees earn annual vacation benefits pro-rated on the basis of scheduled hours.
New employees are not permitted to take vacation leave during the 90 calendar day introductory period. An employee will not accrue vacation time during the 90 calendar day probationary period, but upon successful completion of the introductory period will be credited with vacation time retroactive to the most recent date of hire
Employees do not accrue vacation leave during a leave of absence without pay, or during time otherwise not worked or paid.
Employees are allowed to roll-over seven (7) days of vacation time, prorated to your regularly scheduled hours every fiscal year. Any vacation time over seven (7) days, prorated to your regularly scheduled hours
not used by June 30th will be lost.
